Cosplay Guideline for EVO Japan 2025
Preface
Cosplay is full of creativity.
Evo Japan also supports cosplayers to challenge the cosplay of their favorite fighting game characters.
However, Remember that Evo Japan is an event for all ages and families , therefore follow our cosplay guidelines below.

If you dress or behave in a manner that violates the regulations, you may be asked to change your clothes or leave the venue.
In the event of ejection from Evo Japan, no refund or other action will be taken as stated in the “Prohibited matter” and “Penalties” sections of the Tournament Rules and Regulations.

Registration
"Cosplay Ticket" and "Admission Ticket" are required to cosplay at EVO Japan 2025.
The cosplay ticket offers the following,
 
  • Cosplay registration
  •  
  • Changing room usage
  •  
  • Cloakroom usage

  • For more details about the cosplay ticket, please read the latest news "Cosplay tickets on sale / Guideline available!"

    The cosplay ticket will also be available on Ticket PIA.
    Cosplayers must redeem the ticket for the "Cosplay Registration Card" at the venue's reception.
    *Please note that you will be asked to fill in the ‘cosplay registration form’ to redeem the cosplay card.
    *Please remember to bring an electric device to present the ticket on the day of the event.
    *Reception for cosplayers is TBA.

    ■Age restriction on cosplay
    ●Cosplay Contest
    The competitors of the cosplay contest must be 18 years of age or older as of 9 May 2025.
    ●Cosplay parade / Cosplay participation on site
    All ages are welcome. However, junior high school students and younger must be accompanied by their guardians.

    ■Dressing and changing room
    •  Dressing will be allowed only in the changing rooms set up in the venue. Coming to the venue or returning home while wearing makeup, costumes, or cosplay in nearby facilities or restrooms is strictly prohibited.
    •  If you have to leave the TOKYO BIG SIGHT temporarily during an event, please do so while dressed in normal clothing.
    •  The Cosplay Ticket is required to use the changing room.
    •  Changing rooms will be available as follows:
       May 9, 9:00 - 21:30
       May 10, 9:00 - 21:30
       May 11, 10:00 - 16:30
    • *Please ensure that you finish changing before the end of use.
    • Staff of other genders may enter the room only in emergency situations. Please understand this in advance.

    • Please note that in the changing room:
       Do not leave luggage or trash in the room.
       Photography, including selfies, is prohibited in the room.
       Please refrain from resting, eating, drinking, or waiting for others in the room.
       Do not spread out your luggage excessively in the room, and please be respectful of others.
       The use of volatile or strong-smelling materials such as hairspray, nail polish, etc., as well as actions that may stain the room such as the use of color spray, blood glue, etc.) are prohibited.

    ■Cosplay with preschool children
    • Children of school age need to purchase a cosplay ticket to cosplay.
    • Preschool children can enter Evo Japan and participate in cosplay without either a cosplay ticket or an admission ticket. However, please be sure to be accompanied by their guardian.
    • Their guardian can enter the changing room in order to help their children to get dressed without the cosplay ticket unless they cosplay themselves.
    • Junior high school students and younger must be accompanied by their guardians.

    Use of changing rooms with children
    ◆Only guardians or both guardians and children cosplay
    •  If the guardian and child are the same gender,
        Enter the same changing room with your children.
    •  If the guardian and child are of different genders,
        Enter the "private changing room" with your children.

    ◆Only children cosplay
    •  If the guardian and child are the same gender:
        One guardian of the same gender may enter the same changing room as a chaperone unless the guardian cosplays.
    •  If the guardian and child are of different genders:
        One guardian may enter the "private changing room" as a chaperone unless the guardian cosplays.

    Private Changing Room
    Persons who fall under any of the following can use the private changing room:
    •  Children and their guardians who are guided to use the private room in the cases above.
    •  Persons whose gender identity differs from that in their family register.

    ■Cloakroom
    • Cosplay Ticket includes the cloakroom access.
      The cloakroom will also be available for all visitors. On-site sales will be announced later, approximately after the 7 April registration deadline.

    • Cloakrooms will be available as follows:
       May 9, 9:00 - 22:00
       May 10, 9:00 - 22:00
       May 11, 10:00 - 17:00
      *Please ensure that you finish picking up your equipment before the end of use.

    ■Management of your baggage
    Valuable or fragile items cannot be kept in the cloakroom. Please make sure you carry them with you and manage them yourself.
    You are also responsible for your own luggage in the changing rooms.
    In the unlikely event of theft or damage, the Executive Committee will not be held responsible.

    ■Costume
    •  Costumes that are offensive to public order and morals or that may cause discomfort to third parties are prohibited.
    •  To prevent excessive skin exposure beyond what is necessary to cosplay the character, please wear underwear, spats, pantyhoses, etc.
    •  Undergarments and private parts must be covered with opaque material so as not to be exposed.
    • The following costumes are prohibited:
       Costumes worn without underwear
       Costumes where underwear or private parts are directly visible or visible through gaps in the costume, such as at the chest, sides, or front apron area.
       Costumes that can easily be mistaken for underwear
       Costumes that are overly sexual in character (deviating from the source cosplay)
    • To prevent injury, please wear shoes.
    • Costumes must be able to pass through the entrances and exits of TOKYO BIG SIGHT and must not impede traffic on the concourse or in the venue and prevent players from competing fairly. Please note that the tournament area will be exceptionally crowded.
    • If the costume or equipment is huge, or if there are protrusions that you cannot control, such as feathers or spikes, please have an assistant with you at all times.
      Also, please do not endanger other visitors by removing or folding them when moving them.
      You may be asked to change your clothes if you pose a safety hazard to others.
    • Masks and headgear that cover the face are strictly prohibited outside the venue for security reasons. For safety reasons, Please take off any decorations that largely obstruct your vision when moving within the venue.
    • Costumes must not resemble police, first-aid, security, or government uniforms in order to ensure that Evo Japan first-aid and security staff are identifiable.
    • Costumes that criticize or may ridicule a specific organization, race, gender, religion, politics, history, or culture are strictly prohibited.
    • Costumes other than those listed above that are deemed inappropriate by the staff may not be worn.
